October Surprise Watch?

Some news this weekend to help you get your cynicism on...

First up- Rumors abound (again) that Osama bin Laden has died in Pakistan, possibly of typhoid. I can remember many similar stories/rumors in the past few years and feel that further speculation now is pointless until these reports are/aren't proven. Second- Concerns grow over whether the administration is secretly preparing for war against Iran. The Nation reads the tea leaves and they don't paint an encouraging picture. Reports have been creeping out for months that the military is preparing for it. Third time's the charm, eh neocons? Meanwhile, Pentagon Papers-leaker Daniel Ellsberg encourages an insider to leak the administration's Iran plans.
