CIA Holds Terror Suspects in Secret Prisons

The CIA is running a secret network of terror prisons.

Is this really anything new, though? Seems like business as usual at the CIA.

See the Washington Post article the info came from:

So let's see...we have a story about covert CIA run prisons...you know If there was any intellectual honesty on the left, shouldn't there be demands for an investigation into who leaked this classified information?? I would imagine that something this sensitive being let out of the bag might endanger our national security.

What's that sound...no it's not that John Cage song...it's the collective reaction of the left.

Joe, the irony was not lost on me. I actually did think about that this evening when rethinking about this story. Certainly, if any government official leaked classified info, they should be investigated. However, what's more horrifying to me than the leaking of this info is the info itself.

Namely, that our government is running secret prisons and violating international law to torture prisoners. And certainly we should note that some of the places they are using for these prisons are former Soviet gulags. We can't win a war by using the tactics of those we denounce. Despite what Donald Rumseld, the Vice President, and others believe, the U.S. is not above the law and doesn't own the entire world.
